Friday's Childrens' Action Event

WHAT? A kids' creativity event 
WHERE? at Barker Commons 
WHEN? at 3:30 pm on Friday 9/12 
(RAIN location: Steele Room of Barker Library)
Children of all ages welcome!

Those attending can work on creating flags, signs, banners, props, posters, etc to use in the Climate Change march in Fredonia on Saturday 9/20

We will bring craft supplies but attendees are welcome to add theirs and to share.

Chautauqua Citizens Respond to Climate Crisis



PRESS RELEASE: A new community group, Chautauqua Citizens Respond to Climate Crisis (CCRCC,www.ccrccinfo.org), will hold a rally at the Gazebo in Barker Commons, Fredonia on Saturday, September 20, 2014 from 10 am until 1 pm. A march from Fenton Hall at SUNY Fredonia to Barker Commons will precede the rally, with lineup starting at 9:30 am. Speakers at the rally will discuss actions that we can take as individuals, as a community, and as a nation to reduce climate change, as well as to prepare for and adapt to it. Activities for all ages will be included, and children are welcome. The event will run concurrently with the Fredonia Farmers Market's Sample Day.
 
The march coincides with the People's Climate March in NYC on Sept. 20-21 (http://climatemarch.org/nyc/), to encourage governmental leaders attending the United Nations Climate Summit (http://www.un.org/climatechange/summit/on Sept. 23to take bold action to dramatically reduce the human contribution to the climate crisis which threatens our planet.
